Get to know me – Jayne Hilton

I have been a successful Mortgage Adviser for many years now, obtaining my CeMAP qualification in December 1999 while I was working for a top ranked building society at the time. I then moved onto being a mortgage broker/business development manager, also working within an estate agency, to then setting up Hilton Mortgage Solutions in 2018. Due to the expansion and success of the business, the lovely and very experienced Helen Crawford came on as a director in February 2023, as she had been advising in the business since November 2018.

The experience I have gained in retail banking, estate agents and mortgage brokers in the past, has given me the tools to help my clients over the years and with great success.

I have met some fabulous clients over the years maintaining contact and even being invited to some amazing weddings and christenings along the way.

Being a mortgage broker allows you to help your client as an individual, as not everyone fits the same mould of retail banking criteria. As a mortgage broker, you have choice for your customer, with a comprehensive range of mortgage providers and products.

I am married with one grown up daughter, and I would like to think I will have grandchildren in the future, but I don’t always get an approving look from her when this is mentioned. I have lived in Doncaster all my life and I know the area and surrounding villages very well and have been covering Scunthorpe area for many years now. I love spending time with my family and friends and taking much well-earned holidays.

Mortgage & Protection Adviser

I have been a successful Mortgage and Protection Adviser for over 30 years, and I’m fully qualified with CeRER and CeMAP certifications.

I have worked mainly in retail banking.  My career started in 1989 as a cashier at a building society in Scarborough. I quickly progressed my career to mortgage and protection advice. I stayed with the same employer for just over 15 years and successfully set up and managed their mortgage customer retentions team.  I then moved to a different building society as their Branch Manager whilst still maintaining the mortgage advice side of the business. Following 5 years there I worked in an estate agent providing mortgage and protection advice at 2 of their branches for 2 years. Then I moved onto a large retail bank as their mortgage and protection adviser for 9 years.

Following redundancy in 2018, I commenced work with the extremely successful, Jayne Hilton at Hilton Mortgage Solutions Ltd and become a director in February 2023 following the expansion and success of the business. I have worked with Jayne Hilton, my business partner previously to 2018 in the retail bank sector and we therefore have a great long term business relationship.

The experience I have gained in retail banking, building societies and estate agencies has given me the tools to help my clients over the years and with great success. I love to personalise everyone’s mortgage and protection needs so each of them leaves me with the perfect mortgage and protection solution, individually tailored to them. Our meetings have resulted in great friendships.

I am married to Stuart with one daughter, Millie and 2 Jack Russell’s and I have lived in Scarborough for over 50 years. A beautiful place with the beach and sea only 10 minutes’ walk from my door and the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside to the other side of me.

I cover Scarborough and the wonderful surrounding areas, Filey, Bridlington and Whitby and beyond!
